Winners of the "What I Love About Chapin" Photo Contest Announced -
Kudos to the winners of the Chapin Chamber of Commerce's amateur photography contest: What I love About Chapin. "We are so pleased with the response we received," said Karen Owens, executive director of the chamber. "We had 29 entries, and it was a challenging call for our judges. We look forward to showcasing these great photos in a 2014 calendar and post card series that will be available for sale to raise money for renovations to the historic Chaffin Eleazer House, home of the chamber." Winners were announced at the annual gala. Freddie Heintz's photo of a Lake Murray sunset, " No Filter Needed"  took top honors. Second place went to Scott Macfarland for his photo of a majestic blue heron on the edge of the lake. Third place honors went to Stan Shealy for his photo of a rustic old home located off Columbia Avenue Northwest.

Chapin Monthly Luncheon -
Kick off the new year at the Chapin Chamber's January luncheon at noon January 21 at the new Town Hall. Reggie Murphy, with the Midlands SC Works Center will talk on how to connect employers and workers through a variety of programs. SC Works Trains, recruits and prepares people to be part of SC's skilled workforce. To register, call 345-1100. Admission for chamber members is free. Guests are $10. Kelly's Cuisine is providing lunch.

Cinderella Project Gown Drop-off -
Drop off gowns for the SC Bar's Cinderella Project at the Chapin Chamber. Bring your gently worn formal gowns, bridesmaid and prom dresses in all sizes to help young ladies enjoy a wonderful prom experience this spring. You may also donate jewelry, evening bags, shoes and other accessories. Dresses should be clean and on hangers. Collections will run through March 7.
