The chamber is looking for help in the following areas: April Silent Auction to benefit Chamber House, Annual Chamber Golf Tournament, Chapin Merchants Committee, Website Revision Committee, Economic Development Committee, Awards Gala Benefit Committee, Chamber Navigators, Membership Development, Community Service Day and the Labor Day Festival and Parade. If interested, please call Karen at (803) 345-1100.
Arbor Day Dedication -
The Chapin Garden Club dedicated a Leyland Cypress tree in observance of Arbor Day 2013 at the new Town Hall. The garden club dedicates a tree in honor of grandchildren born to Garden Club members each year. This year's tree was dedicated in honor of Gage Thomas Shealy, great grandson of Betty Ann Shealy, and to Cooper Wyland Stone, grandson of Sally Harrell. Toni Brown, Arbor Day Chairperson, opened the ceremony with information about the Leyland Cypress, Karen McConnell read a poem and President Cindy Chin read the dedication. A check was presented to Mayor Skip Wilson for the Town of Chapin. South Carolina has celebrated Arbor Day, which falls on the first Friday in December, since 1934.
