Chapin Community of Character Service Day -
The town of Chapin is looking for volunteers to help plan its 14th Annual Community of Character Service Day on Saturday, April 12. The town also is seeking community service projects. If your business, organization or church would like to be involved, please contact Kari Pepper McKeone, chair of this year's observance. Projects range from beautification projects around town to volunteering to help the elderly - anything that makes a positive difference in our community.
Crooked Creek Juried Exhibition -
Everyone is invited to attend the formal reception and awards ceremony for the Crooked Creek Art League's 19th Annual Juried Exhibition March 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Crooked Creek Park, 1098 Old Lexington Highway, Chapin. All are welcome to view the art, meet the artists and vote for the people's choice award. The exhibit is currently on display and may be viewed at any time during the park's regular business hours through March 28. The winning art will hang until April 20. Chapin Community Endowment Seeking Grant Applications -
The Chapin Community Endowment is seeking grant applications for 2014. The Endowment has provided assistance to local non-profits and last year awarded more than $19,000 to four organizations committed to improving health and well being of Chapin area residents. Local non-profit 510 (3) organizations that serve Chapin, Ballentine, Little Mountain, Peak, Prosperity and White Rock are encouraged to apply. The maximum grant award is $5,000. To apply for funding, organizations may submit an application until April 1. Visit www.chapin.yourfoundation.org for details. Finalists will be invited to make a presentation to the Grants Committee in April or May.
