Annual Purple Martin Cruise Benefits Carolina Wildlife Care

Carolina Wildlife Care will host its' annual Purple Martin Cruise Wednesday, July 17 from 6:30  - 9:30 p.m. aboard the air-conditioned Spirit of Lake Murray. Set sail for an evening of food, drinks, and purple martins from Shealy's Landing at 317 Shadowood Drive. Bomb Island is the destination, the largest purple martin sanctuary in North America. Close to one million purple martins converge on teh island each year before making a grueling 2,000 to 5,000 mile journey to their wintering grounds in Mexico or South America. Chapin United Methodist Providing Free Clinic

Chapin United Methodist Church is partnering with Good Samaritan Ministries to offer a free clinic to underserved individuals in the Chapin and surrounding community. The new ministry is in the developmental stages, with a goal of beginning in September, and offering free basic medical services two evenings per month. This free clinic will be hosted on the CUMC campus and staffed primarily of CUMC members. There will be a meeting for those who have already committed to this ministry, as well as those who have not signed on but want more information. Sizzlin' Summer Business Expo Mixer

The Sizzlin' Summer Business Expo Mixer with the Chapin and Irmo Chambers of Commerce will be Tuesday, June 18 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Rusty Anchor and Quaterdeck Restaurant at Lighthouse Marina, 1925 Johnson Marina Road, Chapin.
